BRC ADHD Portal

Brain Resource’s proprietary Brain Database is the largest in the world and measures all aspects of the brain in a truly integrated and standardized platform.

The Challenge

Given a huge amount of data and resources to manage, the unique challenge for this project was to harness this data to create an interface that could be easy enough for the average parent to digest.

The Users

Although the majority of users are parent's of children with ADHD, other possible users are teachers, relatives, and guardians.

The Process

The initial stages of designing this product involved several onsite meetings with the Brain Resource Company. We met with marketing, product managers, and neuroscientists to gain as much information about the purpose of this product and the information powering it. Next, we started white-boarding and creating low-fidelity wireframes to figure our user flows and interaction scenarios. Once we had gained a solid understanding of our data and had solid wireframes created we held user groups with a professional moderator. We were able to watch as our potential users provided feedback, and we also got the opportunity to ask the key questions we needed to make this product usable.

The Solution

Based on all of the information we had gathered, we decided that we needed to group the information as best we could into small, easily digestable chunks. We utilized a lot of collapsible sections so that the user could use the tool to gain general insights or dig deeper to gain more specific details. This way each page starts as a compact overview in order to keep the user from being overwhelmed.
